| Palenque ruins, probably the most endearing and atmospheric Mayan site in a superb jungle setting. This marvel hosts many temples and houses in good shape, it does take a whole morning to visit properly - get there before the tourist crowds!! We arrived early in the morning and discovered an eerie vision of ruins in lush green settings to the sound of the incredible howling monkeys who live around the site. Simply magic. |
